A Relaxing Episode

The other day I set out to do a nice painting using Acrylic paints, on canvas. A bit of a land/sea/skyscape (I couldn’t decide which) as a bit of relaxation. First I discovered I was running short of paint (some had been donated to my son’s school project - apparently painting the solar system uses up a lot of paint) and evidently I’ve done more painting than I thought recently!

No matter, there was plenty, even if I was a bit limited in choice of colours.

Several hours later, I had a painting. Which just wasn’t doing what I wanted it to. Consequently, I brought out the pastels, and proceeded to make an awful mess of myself, my clothes and the area immediately around me. Now, I love pastels, and I did end up with a picture I’m happy with… a very soft painting in mixed media. However, the clean-up process rather spoilt the “relaxation” element of the whole thing!

Oh - after all that, here is the painting! Hope you like it.
