The mug is red on the inside, with two copies of the picture around the outside.
This picture was originally used on a card and postcard (still available) and made reference to the Galloway Hoard, a collection of Viking age treasure, found in Galloway in 2014. A companion piece featuring my take on the Galloway Anglo Saxons is also available (as shown in the last photo below)
